Pöchlarn is located directly next to the Southern banks of the Danube river, in the Western part of Lower Austria.
The cosy town is known as the birthplace of the famous Austrian expressionist painter Oskar Kokoschka, who lived from 1886 to 1980.
Pöchlarn has 3.500 inhabitants, and is very popular among cycling tourists who pass the town on their path along the Danube river.
