Semmering has 700 inhabitants and is well known as a winter tourism and a climatic health-resort in the South Western part of Lower Austria, directly on the border to Styria.
The success story of Semmering started in the year 1854, when the railway connection to Vienna was opened. Semmering is only 90 km away from Vienna, and since that year easy to reach by railway.
