Wieselburg is located in the south of Lower Austria, close to the Alpine mountains.
The town with about 4.000 inhabitants is known as a supraregional agricultural centre, and as a location for industry and trade.
Wieselburg is an old German name combination with the word “zwisila”(zwisel) which means “confluence” and “burg”.
Its true fame Wieselburg gained with its own beer, the “Wieselburger Stammbräu”. Beer from Wieselburg is popular in whole Austria, even abroad, and sold in all dining cars of the Austrian railway.
