Zeltweg is located in the Central area of Austria on the lovely banks of the Mur river.
The town developed and increased its population by the timber rafting on the Mur river.
The most important sources of income for Zeltweg are in the timber industry, packaging industry and mechanical engineering. There is also a military airport in Zeltweg and between 1970 and 2003 Formular One races were hosted in Spielberg, a place close to the city centre of Zeltweg.
