Freistadt is a historical town in the north of Upper Austria, not far from the border of Czech Republic.
The town is located on the Bundesstraße B 310 infront of the Czech border to Unterweitersdorf (connection to the Mühlkreisautobahn A7 to Linz).
There is also a railway connection. The Summerauerbahn offers international connections to Praha (Prague), České Budějovice (Budweis), Ljubljana (Laibach) as well as from Zürich (Switzerland) and Venezia (Venice) to Freistadt.
Freistadt has 7.500 inhabitants. The old town is really worth to see. Many historical buildings delights the eye of the tourist.
