Hallstatt is located in the south of Upper Austria on the Lake Hallstättersee.
The town has 1.000 inhabitants, and is one of the most popular holiday destinations in the region.
The most important tourist attractions of Hallstatt are the salt and the ice cave as well as the centre of the town itself. Hallstatt is part of the World Heritage List.
