Haslach

Filed under: Upper Austria — admin @ 10:31 pm

Haslach is the name of this interesting place. You can find that historical town in the north of Upper Austria, between Rohrbach in the west and Helfenberg and Bad Leonfeldenin in the east.

Haslach had a very important strategical meaning in the past. But also the economical importance of Haslach was not too little. The town has seen a lot of foreign soldiers in its past: Czechs, militant farmers, Swedes, French soldiers of Napoleon, Bavarians and Germans, and in the last world war also Americans and Russians.

The most important income of Haslach can be found in the agriculture and in the weaving industry. The first textile factory was built in 1833 by Italian investors.

Probably the most impressing sight of Haslach is the Gothic church tower. The strenth and size of this building leaves a slight clue about the importance of this place in former time.

Haslach has 2.600 inhabitants.
